Santa Paws: This 11-Year-Old Volunteers to Read to Animals at Local Shelter After Losing His Own Dog

After losing his own dog to whom he used to read, 11-year-old Evan was motivated to help animals at his local Animal Care Center—so he volunteers to read to them now.

"I started volunteering at the shelter on the weekends to read to animals so they can calm down and be socialized with," Evan says, "so when they meet the family that may be theirs, they won't be scared."

Rach loves what Evan is doing so much, she's sending him her Nutrish dog treats to bring to the shelter pups.

Just call him Santa Paws! 🎅🐶
